As yogis in the modern world, it can be hard to find time in quiet.
Yet as the Yoga Sutras tell us, it is only in silence that we re-connect with our true nature and enjoy the fortifying, radiant, and unconditioned wisdom of our soul.
Taking one day to be in silence, away from our phones, our work responsibilities and family obligations, helps us refill our reservoir of prana and bring a sense of freshness back into our life.
We’ll move through slow, mindful hatha yoga postures in our “yang” section and hold longer, passive postures in our “yin” section. The inclusion of both yin and yang helps balance the left and right brain, preparing us to sit in meditation with greater comfort and ease.
Much of the time spent in silence is guided by Sally’s voice, with some pure silence interwoven in manageable parts. The seated and reclined meditations are also a mixture of pure silence and soft, gentle cues to bring you back to your body when your mind wanders. You’ll be given plenty of detailed instructions for all the meditation and yoga techniques, as well as variations for different levels of flexibility and experience.
Come learn first-hand how silence is one of the most powerful teachers along our spiritual path, and how to work with the thoughts, feelings, and resistance that are bound to come up. The day starts and ends with a brief (and optional) group discussion / Q&A to help re-integrate the work we do back into our everyday lives.
Open to anyone with some yoga and meditation experience.
